Clare Parkhouse

Call: 2022

Clare joined Chambers in September 2024 on successful completion of pupillage under the supervision of David Juckes, Alice Nash and Thomas Crockett. She accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas.

During pupillage Clare gained experience drafting pleadings, advices and skeleton arguments in all aspects of medical law and professional liability, as well as attending conferences, hearings and settlement meetings. She also contributed research to a Chambers seminar on the new Fixed Recoverable Costs regime.

As a tenant, Clare is building a busy practice of court hearings and paperwork.

She represents both claimants and defendants at trials and interlocutory hearings in the County Court in matters ranging from RTAs and credit hire litigation to Data Protection / GDPR claims and disputes about construction of insurance policies. Clare has also been instructed to represent parties at CCMCs and infant approval hearings in both the County Court and High Court.

Clare is experienced in inquests, having spent four months seconded to the advisory team of a leading healthcare law firm. This role included advising on legal issues and preparation of evidence, and representation at PIRHs and inquest hearings.

Additionally, Clare is regularly instructed to draft pleadings as well as advise in conference and on paper in medical negligence, personal injury and professional negligence cases.

Prior to pupillage Clare worked as a litigation assistant at a leading medical defence organisation, assisting an in-house litigation team of solicitors with medical and dental negligence claims. Clare also supported the regulatory team at GDC hearings.

Clare is committed to pro bono work and takes on cases through Advocate which has included advice and drafting on matters relating to data protection, professional regulation, judicial review and recovery of costs. Clare also volunteers on the AvMA helpline.
