Clare joined Chambers in September 2024 having successfully completed her pupillage under the supervision of David Juckes, Alice Nash and Thomas Crockett. She accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas.
During pupillage Clare gained experience drafting pleadings, advices and skeleton arguments in all aspects of medical law and professional liability. She also attended conferences, hearings and settlement meetings and assisted at inquests, including advising on self-referral to the GMC. In addition, Clare contributed research to a Chambers seminar on the new Fixed Recoverable Costs regime and undertook noting briefs in the High Court. Clare has also built a busy County Court practice including trials and application hearings.
Prior to pupillage Clare worked as a litigation assistant at a leading medical defence organisation, assisting an in-house team of solicitors with medical and dental negligence claims. This role included drafting statements of case, instructions, application notices and witness statements, as well as attending hearings, settlement meetings and conferences with experts. Clare also provided support to the in-house regulatory team including assisting legal advisers and counsel in hearings at the General Dental Council.
